Favourite Book
When it comes to reading I usually enjoy every book I pick up. I tend to get really deep in the book and have a hard time putting it down. Overall I would have to say my favourite book I have read so far would be The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. To sum it up The Kite Runner takes place in Afghanistan before and when the Taliban takeover. It's about a young boy (Amir) and the servant's son (Hassan) winning a kite tournament. In the story, the kite tournament plays a very significant part as you read on. After the kite tournament, Amir witnesses Hassan being sexually assaulted by the neighborhood bullies in an alleyway. Amir now has the choice to save Hassan or save the winning kite to rekindle a relationship with his father. This decision changes the whole book and the story becomes very unpredictable. Personally, I got too attached to this book (I cried a little) but other than that I really enjoyed this book and would recommend this to everyone.
Had to read this last year in English class and I actually enjoyed it... except for chapter 6 and 7.... those were some of the chapters that made me almost shed a tear.
